Mighty Group Adventure Policies

My Mighty Group Adventure policies are here to ensure that I can continue providing an enjoyable, enriching and safe consistent routine to a small group of compatible dogs with focused attention.

Enrolment Policy:

In order to keep my group sizes small and compatible, my enrolment policy is designed to ensure that your dog is fully assessed prior to committing to enrolment and that once enrolled, your spot is reserved within their compatible group.

All new dogs begin with two trial walks within the same week charged at my discounted walking rate ($40/walk).

If your dog has been assessed as being compatible for joining my Mighty Group Adventures, your dog will continue for a more intensive trial period for another 3 weeks at a minimum of 1 walk a week charged at our discounted walking rate ($40/walk).

My goals with grouping dogs are both safety and enjoyment.  I want to ensure that all dogs are comfortable, feel safe and enjoy the play style of the other dogs.  At any point over your dog’s enrolment, I may assess your dog as no longer compatible with the group.  You will be informed verbally and via email of any changes to your dog’s behaviour over the course of their enrolment.

After the trial period, you will have the option of signing up to one of two enrolment options.

With both enrolment options, enrolment is rolling (continuous until notice via email or sms is given).  See cancellation policy below in regard to ceasing your enrolment.

My enrolment options are either:

Ongoing Engagement Enrolment or Flexible Term Time Enrolment

My ongoing engagement enrolment is designed for dog guardians who are looking for their dog to have a regular long term walking group.  This helps with building strong social connections and consistency in routine.

Ongoing engagement enrolment provides $8 off every group walk on the condition that regular walk days each week decided at the beginning of enrolment (1-4) are paid for regardless of attendance to secure your spot.  If there is availability and your dog is compatible with the group, you can change your walking days provided you inform me prior to your next billing cycle.

Enrolments are invoiced monthly in advance with invoices sent out 1 week prior to the next month.

Our flexible term time enrolment is designed for dog guardians who are looking for their dog to have a regular walking group throughout the term with the flexibility to take school holidays off.

Flexible Term Time Enrolment is charged at my regular walking rate of $48 across the public school term (excluding teacher development days).  If this enrolment option is chosen, it will be assumed that your dog will not be attending over school holiday periods.  Please note that if you are on the Flexible Term Time Enrolment, there is an option to add in school holiday days at a discounted rate of $30 per walk, provided 4 weeks notice is given and the walk days are the same days attended during the school term.

Flexible Term Time Enrolments are invoiced in advance for the beginning of the term and half way through the term, sent out 1 week prior.  In the case where enrolment begins partway through the term, invoicing will be for the remainder of the term half in which the sign up occurs.

Payment of invoices is required at least 24 hours prior to the first walk in the invoiced period.

Vacation Policy:

I do not offer walks on public holidays.

I take annual leave days for 2 weeks over the Xmas/New Year period and for 1 week every school holiday period.  I reserve the right to take annual leave days at other times throughout the year.

You will be informed of these days 3 months in advance (or at the time of your meet & greet).

If needed, it is your responsibility to find an alternative dog walker for these time periods.

If your dog’s walks fall on any of these days, you will not be charged for my planned vacation days.

If you have a planned vacation, you must inform me 1 week prior.  Please note that if you are on my ongoing engagement enrolment, any of your normal walk days during your vacation will be charged as normal to reserve your spot.  If you are on my flexible term time enrolment and your vacation falls during a school term, your normal walking days during your vacation will be charged as normal to reserve your spot.

Cancellation Policy:

My goal is to provide your dog with a consistent routine and the enjoyment that comes from socialising, exercising and otherwise interacting with the same group of dogs each week.

To ensure that I can continue providing that consistent routine for your dog and because I only take four dogs at a time for safety and to provide focused attention, I am unable to accommodate cancellations.

Cancelled walks will not be refunded or rescheduled.

Ceasing your enrolment requires written notice (email or sms) at least 2 weeks prior to the next billing cycle.  Please note that this will be seen as the end of your enrolment and your spot will not be reserved.  If you were on an ongoing engagement enrolment, please note that re-enrolling in our Mighty Group Adventures within 3 months of ceasing enrolment will result in you being charged our standard walking fee for the first month of re-enrolment.

Extreme Weather Policy

My goal is to ensure that your dog is only walked in safe conditions.  I will still walk your dog in the case of wet and/or mild windy weather.

However, a walk may be cancelled if the time of your dog’s walk is during a time with a prediction of:

  • Lightning.
  • Hail.
  • Winds over 30km/hr.
  • Temperatures over 32 degrees in the shade (over 29 degrees in the shade for brachycephalic/short nosed breeds, dogs less than 6 months or over 10 years).

Decisions on cancellations due to extreme weather are made 24 hours prior.  You will only be notified if the walk is cancelled.  If you do not receive this notification, the walk is still on.  In the case that the weather changes within this time, in that it would be dangerous to continue, you will be notified as soon as possible.

Walks cancelled due to extreme weather will be refunded.

Preventative Care Policy

My goal is to ensure that your dog is safe from easily preventable diseases.

For this reason, all dogs attending Mighty Group Adventures must be up to date with vaccinations. This means a C5 vaccination (Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis, Bordatella, Parainfluenza).  Parvovirus, Distemper and Hepatitis can be given as a 3 yearly C3 or an annual C3, whereas Bordatella and Parainfluenza (Kennel Cough) must be given annually.

As part of enrolment (initial and ongoing) it is important that you provide an up to date copy of your dog’s vaccination certificate.

Mighty Group Adventures take part in areas that are prevalent for paralysis ticks.

For this reason, all dogs attending Mighty Group Adventures must be up to date with a paralysis tick preventative including, but not limited to Simparica, Nexgard or Bravecto (given on a schedule relevant to the particular tick product, i.e. monthly for Simparica and Nexgard, 3 monthly for Bravecto chews and spot ons and annually for the Bravecto Quantum injection).

Please understand that your dog being on a paralysis tick preventative is not a guarantee that your dog will be free of ticks.  It is your responsibility to check your dog for ticks and be aware of tick paralysis symptoms.

Pick Up/Drop Off Policy

During Mighty Group Adventure Pick ups and Drops offs, my goal is that all dogs are comfortable and safe with minimal transport time where possible.

While my car has the ability to be climate controlled while being securely locked, my goal is to reduce the time the dogs are in the car unattended during pick ups and drop offs.

For this reason, if you are home during pick ups, please only discuss basic information as required for the walk, such as:

  • Has your dog toileted?
  • Has your dog eaten?
  • Is there anything your dog has done out of the ordinary that I need to be aware of?

If you are home during drop offs, I will only discuss basic information as required.  This will be aided by the quick report card that you will be given.
